As the year comes to an end most people are taking a moment to reflect on the moments that have made an impact on their lives this year. We have decided to do the same! After taking a journey into our archives we found some of the design trends, products and people that gave us inspiration. Here’s a recap of our favorite posts from 2013!

1. Too Hot To Handle: Turnstyle Designs

 When it comes to design most people don’t worry about picking the perfect doorknob, not realizing that hardware can elevate the overall style of the room. Turnstyle Designs makes great “jewelry”, for the  home having a beautiful  collection of leather products and other interesting designs that make use of pewter, timber, and  their own unique composites.

2. Spotlight: Rohl Shaws Original Fireclay Farmhouse Sinks

Farmhouse style sinks–also known as apron-front sinks–are highly functional, versatile and a great option for anyone who loves to spend time in the kitchen. Our favorite is the  Shaws Original Collection from Rohl. It’s well made, well-designed and looks great in any kitchen.

3. Design Trends: Paper Chase

Let’s face it, we all hated wallpaper until about a year or two ago when everyone started making them in modern graphic prints, shimmery metallics, and textured designs. Today, we can’t live wihtout it! Here’s a look at our favorite small spaces where wallpaper makes a big impact.

4. A Trip to Emerald City: Pantone’s Color for 2013

We have to take one last look at this year’s most loved color as we ring in the new year with Radiant Orchid. Emerald green–rich,luxurious and energetic–is a beautiful hue that has universal appeal. Everyone will be on the hunt for Pantone’s new purple hue, but I’m sure Emerald will be sticking around for a bit longer.

5. Pantone Color Trend 2013: Extracts Palette

In addition to naming Emerald Green the color of the year, Pantone forecasted color trends that would be popular in interiors. One of our favorites was the culinary inspired Extracts Palette, which combines spicy orange tones with a refreshing shade of green.

6. What’s Hot in the Kitchen: Trends to Watch For In 2013

Every year designers predict what some of the hottest trends will be, and this year they nailed it. Brass made a comeback, kitchen lighting was over the top, and we couldn’t tell the difference between kitchens and living rooms. We love these kitchen trends and we are hoping that they are just as hot in 2014! What do you think the next big kitchen trend will be?

7. Luxe and Lavish: Great Gatsby Inspired Interiors
