It seems like many homes in Brooklyn have an industrial element. Whether it’s a dramatic bathroom with exposed plumbing and rustic wood, or a concrete kitchen with metal bar-stools, a slightly unfinished look is modern and cool! In the Williamsburg loft of Tumblr CEO David Karp, designer John Gachot kept everything simple: a black clawfoot bathtub overlooks a living room filled with natural light. But it’s the traditional-style tub with polished brass tub filler juxtaposed with the concrete, exposed brick, and steel prominent in the rest of the loft that gives the space a chic, but unrefined feel.
