Herringbone is an enduring pattern that designers and homeowners have recently fallen in love with all over again. What makes this classic so trendy? Well, for starters, the zig-zag lines can be colorful and playful in a more modern space, or clean and sophisticated in a traditional one. Some designers are getting especially bold by laying out the tiles in super-large scale, or by staggering the color pattern in unexpected ways. The v-shaped pattern easily adds visual interest to a space–even on a ceiling, or lining the inside of a fireplace.
