When did it become so cool to be a Brooklynite? Maybe since some of the most creative designers, celebrities, writers, artisans, chefs, interior designers and techies started to call our borough home. Now a hub of art and culture, Brooklyn has undeniably become a place where businesses and neighborhoods can flourish. But before Brooklyn became the new It place of New York, companies like Watermark Designs were operating there for years, and they’re proud to claim a history and culture deeply rooted in the Brooklyn design community.

For over three decades, Watermark Designs has been manufacturing decorative plumbing fixtures, bathroom accessories and hardware in the luxury market. Located in heart of BK, Watermark artisans and engineers design and produce high-quality products–making them a true manufacturer of made in the USA products. Everything happens on the factory floor, from product assembly to hand polishing. The company’s ability to make 3D prototypes means being able to provide customers with highly customized products and designs that can be brought to life in just a short period of time.  Watermark’s access to the entire process–from designing and planning to manufacturing and execution–makes it easy for them to really focus on the details, making the quality and style of their products impeccable.

From Garden Hoses to Swarovski Crystal

Watermark’s collections capture the essence of Brooklyn: a diverse portfolio of designs that are rough and unrefined or sleek and chic. Of course they couldn’t resist creating a collection named Brooklyn: influenced by the borough’s industrial heritage, the shapes are inspired by mid-century gate valves and garden hoses used throughout New York City. It has just the right amount of uniqueness and creativity for a modern faucet to work well in a fun kids’ bathroom or an exotic powder room. Watermark also offers more elegant looks, like the polished brass tub filler found in David Karp’s newly renovated industrial chic loft, or the Swarovski crystal-adorned waterfall faucet from the Edge collection. Then, there’s the Zen: inspired by nature, rocks handpicked from the shores of the Great Lakes and quartz stone from Stone Forest are used to create faucet handles. When used with a stone countertop, the handles seamlessly blend in, creating a look that is natural and organic.
